<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I am super excited!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I just can't hide it!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">One of my quilts is in the autumn issue of Quilter's World magazine!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">No, I'm not kidding, it really is!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So, a couple years ago, a sweet lady, Kim Hanson, put out a request to interview some younger quilters. I quickly replied to her. I was curious as to what she was looking for and I know, that younger quilters are generally the exception to the rule. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Kim was so sweet, she emailed me and said she was writing an article about younger quilters. She asked questions about me and asked for some photos of my work. I happily sent her some. Unfortunately, the magazine she originally sent it to, closed their doors before the article made it to print. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">However, things seem to happen for a reason, and her article was accepted and printed by Quilter's World! The magazine for today's quilter!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I finally finished the green, black and white mod quilt I started last year!! Woohoo for wrapping up an unfinished project!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I had planned to have it finished for my daughters 10th birthday, which was in May. I was almost done too. Seriously, I had 3/4 of it quilted when i stopped because i wasn't sure how to proceed. You see, I wanted to quilt each section in a different motif. The problem is, I don't have a ton of experience in free motion quilting. I'm learning and I have perfected meandering and loops, but other then that, I'm very much a novice. And anyone who has attempted free motion quilting will tell you, it is a learned skill that takes a lot of practice.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Anyway, I just finished this quilt. It's fun and modern and most of all, my daughter loves it!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here is the front. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I started by quilting a stitch in the ditch technique along all the grey and black lines. This helped keep the whole thing together while quilting the rest of the quilt.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBPPJrHyilvzvYCZW6tDN6zN7C9gy2fEfeGaWMU5Zw941O4kzkIVymAaa0t2XhvvXqx-M_61tscaxlgLTiMljyr4RXRQcVliW7k2O2A0ZsnGo7lLsT4NVMTEkWpNn6fZ9y97_3la0ZnQg/s1600/IMG_4407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBPPJrHyilvzvYCZW6tDN6zN7C9gy2fEfeGaWMU5Zw941O4kzkIVymAaa0t2XhvvXqx-M_61tscaxlgLTiMljyr4RXRQcVliW7k2O2A0ZsnGo7lLsT4NVMTEkWpNn6fZ9y97_3la0ZnQg/s400/IMG_4407.jpg" width="392" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I left the patched cross sections alone, with just quilting lines in the ditch. I did a different free motion quilting style in each of the larger areas.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmyUvdKwNm5zLzcpJsuMY9AQQdu_5ylgHtnFswg9m4yCjm5Cd2Sy7rV4RThiIF8dXhnw0mtF1VT8fCp1w3a_80jPCg8x4P-pF5_kSPBJltAnf8uScHjuk7RB8_eQKuWnZyS93YoZZuWRE/s1600/IMG_4408.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmyUvdKwNm5zLzcpJsuMY9AQQdu_5ylgHtnFswg9m4yCjm5Cd2Sy7rV4RThiIF8dXhnw0mtF1VT8fCp1w3a_80jPCg8x4P-pF5_kSPBJltAnf8uScHjuk7RB8_eQKuWnZyS93YoZZuWRE/s400/IMG_4408.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">For the back, I did a modern patchwork pattern with leftover fabric and some fun pink prints I had.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWJUkoON_wJ0WcTrWj4UviozW5eLiaOEAv4kHcD7ieAZIvKUP5bEN5paVE9yb-0xDlHOTN_q6cHO6MPacDUEjM8mmxI000wl2nPzIb1ZQps_PdHCNx-COzXcWQrx79BsEUyeuI-cF-MAQ/s1600/IMG_4409.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWJUkoON_wJ0WcTrWj4UviozW5eLiaOEAv4kHcD7ieAZIvKUP5bEN5paVE9yb-0xDlHOTN_q6cHO6MPacDUEjM8mmxI000wl2nPzIb1ZQps_PdHCNx-COzXcWQrx79BsEUyeuI-cF-MAQ/s400/IMG_4409.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I didn't think to much into this design, I basically just put them together as easily as I could, starting with the left over fabric from piecing the front. Adding the pinks for contrast and filler.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNPEkhGTmODF6RbRDr4hscybzmfG3J5oLwC5uGyAdHUgGJa915_jNIt5XGHG5REDPwT1EaL-dQggFtKPyWVklcrEug6DlVMAvcrQDvHVINQOcYQk9hC_4V8NL5eKTaeCpfI6k5BMJDr6k/s1600/IMG_4411.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNPEkhGTmODF6RbRDr4hscybzmfG3J5oLwC5uGyAdHUgGJa915_jNIt5XGHG5REDPwT1EaL-dQggFtKPyWVklcrEug6DlVMAvcrQDvHVINQOcYQk9hC_4V8NL5eKTaeCpfI6k5BMJDr6k/s400/IMG_4411.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">In the end, my daughter loved the back almost more then the front. So, I would say it was a win. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Some other techniques I was new to with this quilt.. I used elmers school glue to baste the layers together. The glue worked out great, however it was messy, and stiff. It also seeps thru the layers. I was a little worried at first, but true to its washable claim, it all came out when i tossed it in the wash. I will be trying this method again, tho.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I also did the binding a bit differently. Instead of making binding strips and attaching them at the end, I just trimmed the backing fabric to 1 3/4 inches and double folded it over and stitched. I did a heart shape decorative stitch along the front to seal it all up. I liked how easy it was, but it's not my favorite look.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">You can kind of see the binding at the top of the photo. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiErcnjtAJ6Si8yVUx3h4rNWJ2C5AZyIIr3AFeAnQKpmg33mMJxnJm6027e5CnuehZKsi0XbSi-NMOxEwffHHFc_l1Ilq88ajVs0lylLUhygrpVEuUx1_nHCjTiGRDsWUOGPVolq23XgMw/s1600/IMG_4412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiErcnjtAJ6Si8yVUx3h4rNWJ2C5AZyIIr3AFeAnQKpmg33mMJxnJm6027e5CnuehZKsi0XbSi-NMOxEwffHHFc_l1Ilq88ajVs0lylLUhygrpVEuUx1_nHCjTiGRDsWUOGPVolq23XgMw/s640/IMG_4412.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Totally love the fluffiness of the quilting in this one!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hey guys! I know, it's been a while since I posted anything. Truth is, I haven't been creating much. Partially because I have been lazy and uncreative. But, mostly because, up until this week, the weather here has been perfect for gardening. I have been working on my garden and taking care of my plumeria and also trying my hand at growing veggies. I totally love it, by the way!! But that's not what this post is about. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Today, I want to show you a set of bridal garters I made.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">As usual, I wanted to try something new. I get bored making the same things over and over. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I decided to go with a satin white, with peach accents.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJqvOEm0B1-GTUQkwONerdZNjGRhdAcUW8YkGQgUnwhPqeCEZj2VyyMuP2bFOG2B2zLQIdca7iMRdfI1SOoBvQ3vnThXeOm7E3Q6smjbZ_ReZTWmhSeth43T2SqhuHq-e3L1WVPs-CO3k/s1600/IMG_4071.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJqvOEm0B1-GTUQkwONerdZNjGRhdAcUW8YkGQgUnwhPqeCEZj2VyyMuP2bFOG2B2zLQIdca7iMRdfI1SOoBvQ3vnThXeOm7E3Q6smjbZ_ReZTWmhSeth43T2SqhuHq-e3L1WVPs-CO3k/s400/IMG_4071.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">A side note, for all you brides out there, peach is a tough color to find in your local craft stores. Especially if you want double sided satin ribbon. Seriously had a helluva time finding some. Finally found the narrow ribbon at Micheals Craft store. It was the only peach they had. Not even kidding..it was the only roll.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_STKZvhzLT-p29jEtky362VpM9FDWt6pxk3Wr8d_iyR_hvsm9CuRpsb_phmRGNYAlui9WpwGXrs8OlKgk9URgEor8UpOKFtDbRQ8QFQvDexSQXzxytojMDH5AuXv69uBzd9DdZGfmRvs/s1600/IMG_4073.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_STKZvhzLT-p29jEtky362VpM9FDWt6pxk3Wr8d_iyR_hvsm9CuRpsb_phmRGNYAlui9WpwGXrs8OlKgk9URgEor8UpOKFtDbRQ8QFQvDexSQXzxytojMDH5AuXv69uBzd9DdZGfmRvs/s400/IMG_4073.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Since I had such a hard time finding peach, I was going to bling up the whole thing. I bought a Tulip Glam-it-up tool and crystals to do the job. Only to realize, late in the evening, I did not have the correct batteries. ugh... ok.. that idea is out. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrDhboa7W_6DODGVde-vT4_mzWSkL9c6VFwqBmVA5SNDI0e_gEu7Y3-BB2hdiZLAmASbHGo1Jvqe370Nisi1RyS7b2AlcYIcdZXPnK7ZNi_fOAdL-yGNOmV6_7ibtYAFnn-isU5j21kVo/s1600/IMG_4072.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrDhboa7W_6DODGVde-vT4_mzWSkL9c6VFwqBmVA5SNDI0e_gEu7Y3-BB2hdiZLAmASbHGo1Jvqe370Nisi1RyS7b2AlcYIcdZXPnK7ZNi_fOAdL-yGNOmV6_7ibtYAFnn-isU5j21kVo/s400/IMG_4072.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">On to the next idea. I dug thru some of my odds and ends ribbon flowers and found 2 peach flowers..what?!! The color was on point! I was stoked! They were perfect..almost. They were the standard flowers you can find in packs, satin ribbon with a beaded center. I wasn't much of a fan of the beads in the center, so I cut them out and added a crystal button center. Much better. Plus, it added the bling I was hoping to incorporate. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">A simple white bow and some peach ribbon accents and voila! Finished and lovely. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Although this wasn't my original plan, I really love the way it turned out. It's very classic chic and so soft to the touch. I hope the bride loves it as much as I do. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So, about a year and a half ago, I got this really cool embroidery machine. I bought the Designer Ruby by Husqvarna Viking. It is a pretty awesome machine. I also got the software to go with it. TruE Elite for Mac.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> Now, I'm not huge into cutesy embroidery images, but I was pretty excited about this machine and all the cool things it could do. Seriously, with the software, this thing is practically limitless.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> I also got a pretty awesome deal on it as it was a 1st generation model and they were releasing the 3rd generation at the time.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I already loved my Viking Tribute, so I knew I would love this machine too. And I do. But...the learning curve is huge on these types of machines, not to mention the software. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Basically, I have no clue what I am doing. So much so, that I still have not embroidered on an actual project. It sucks because this machine has so much to offer and I haven't even scratched the surface of its awesomeness. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">That is all going to change. I have challenged myself to learn this machine and the software. With the help of my super awesome husband, we started playing.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This is the first embroidery image that I got online and was able to stitch out. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Got it from urbanthreads.com. Seriously, cool site for embroidery images. Especially if you are like me and don't get all excited with the "normal" images.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifc1qGhuK3HaF39kkmLfHAePB76yS7phTFtoOfcIQqlnnyIpSoQie_h3oKGSVvcDlBMLMk7UT6UBN-7c9AWa4S1Em8h0yX12QflcGVUBCdLW5Qo6eiX3OXFDRmVk6XH95KZlFbw3t_Gxg/s1600/IMG_3621.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifc1qGhuK3HaF39kkmLfHAePB76yS7phTFtoOfcIQqlnnyIpSoQie_h3oKGSVvcDlBMLMk7UT6UBN-7c9AWa4S1Em8h0yX12QflcGVUBCdLW5Qo6eiX3OXFDRmVk6XH95KZlFbw3t_Gxg/s400/IMG_3621.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">It was going so well.....and then the thread spool got caught. You can see the problem on the T and H of threadster. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I was kinda bummed, but it was a lesson learned, and that is what this challenge is all about.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I'll keep you posted on my progress. It can only get better from here on out.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Sometimes you buy fabric and you think you love it. Sometimes you really do. Sometimes not so much. The latter would be the case with my blue monochromatic batik layer cake. Seriously, loved it when I bought it. But then, at some point, I just didn't. It sat for in my stash for a while before I decided to hack into it. Last year, I was in a creative funk that I was trying to get out of. I needed to do something, but didn't have the creative mojo to get into anything really crazy. I just needed to sew. Needed desperately to get back into the swing of things. I have learned, from experience, to keep things simple. So, I decided it was time to open up the layer cake. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I got to work cutting and sewing simple blocks. Got them all done....</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hated them.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">They sat in a drawer for months. And they would still be sitting there if I wasn't to lazy to go to the quilt store. (I hate shopping, even for stuff I like, actually, I just hate leaving the house, LOL) But, alas, I got this quilt top together, and guess what? I don't hate it. I actually like it. Once it was together, I was inspired by it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKz5VrIT7UO3RI6QOjz0X695ZTmdgJ_a0mg0qz7uo80PAj_B9jrJ_vzqtaS4O2mCx419rCxznFSZoW1pDEMtD_ZhZfZm6HCzSmAfg3YAvXspHqtlsl__mRO3hFFDOY2jhV-2gHo-0w9G4/s1600/IMG_3425.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKz5VrIT7UO3RI6QOjz0X695ZTmdgJ_a0mg0qz7uo80PAj_B9jrJ_vzqtaS4O2mCx419rCxznFSZoW1pDEMtD_ZhZfZm6HCzSmAfg3YAvXspHqtlsl__mRO3hFFDOY2jhV-2gHo-0w9G4/s400/IMG_3425.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">This is one of those times where it payed off to continue working on a project I wasn't to crazy about. I'm glad I got it together. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Now, my plan is to add orange and yellow flowers (or circles) to the top. They will be appliquéd on and possibly with my embroidery machine. :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I'm excited to see where this project will go and I'm glad I stuck it out. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">One of the things I'd like to accomplish this year is making a themed set of placemats for my table. I figured this would be good sewing practice, festive and useful. (I have a glass table and I hate the clinking of the plates on the table.)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I struggled with this for a few weeks. I couldn't figure out how to do the ideas in my head. I bought this super cute layer cake, full of festive, but not super mushy fabrics, to help get the creative juices flowing. It might have helped, if I weren't sick in bed for a week. Seriously people, the flu sucks. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Anyway, the placemats finally got finished. Even if it is after Valentine's Day, I at least finished them in the correct month. LOL </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I started off with a 4patch and then cut into them, diagonally, twice. Then mixed them all up and sewed them together. This added a bit of randomness to the piecing. </span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj4Qb5NuvGyFJ81jrJ3RA3qsamgxt-lm1jam_FVC7uUySIDNQB5ae9q_N3eF3RRnyt1E_CEof8fjdyOr9xwA1y1sh3PoV2vOsZ4F4s4FpG1ofiAwqdR9cf4r-RRmhcLB21CWzpEdtt8E4/s1600/IMG_3586.jpg" imageanchor="1"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLaBIF0m4KUGAtFcp3iK4xHb_xax_nJC6zJHhYWb2mOhk3vQYW4l4ua1bfCVdoS0TTZ1E_WszfYlPSeI-R23xs3wWdo-2tIb8zwCfWNZxNmG-YqJxxYgaQX6a6SVtxQliSYzZvWp9YABA/s1600/IMG_3587.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLaBIF0m4KUGAtFcp3iK4xHb_xax_nJC6zJHhYWb2mOhk3vQYW4l4ua1bfCVdoS0TTZ1E_WszfYlPSeI-R23xs3wWdo-2tIb8zwCfWNZxNmG-YqJxxYgaQX6a6SVtxQliSYzZvWp9YABA/s400/IMG_3587.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I kept a 4patch on the back to keep it simple.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I used felt for the batting. Instead of quilting and binding it, I sewed it right sides together and flipped it out. I sewed along the edge of the heart to give it a finished look and to secure the felt on the inside.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I had one small problem with this project. I had a small pucker at the top of all the hearts once I turned them out. I have no idea why it happened, but it happened to all of them. Luckily I was able to press most of it out, but it's something I will be aware of the next time I sew heart shapes.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day! We had a pretty relaxed day. I got to spend the day with my love and we ordered heart shaped pizza for dinner.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I did have a few loved themed projects planned for the holiday. I was pretty sick last week, so I didn't get the placemats finished like I had hoped. I needed something to get back in the swing of things so I decided to make the dogs bow ties. Not sure why I wanted to do this. I've never had an urge to dress up the dogs before. LOL No judgment if you do, it's just never been my thing. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Well, something changed, cuz I just had to make all three of them festive bow ties. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here they are! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNTxXKuXcFXJPxPTxFgswlFqjReQMMhQnhvQOLYDiJQYaPH-gYHG4gMIHeG_AuoJS__1B9f6oGph_ThFQHHNL-3DVKvAu2KBPNZVkFPIMPkH5jzCTvlWGrRrr1c5zXNzuN8HP3lQVn1XM/s1600/IMG_3577.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNTxXKuXcFXJPxPTxFgswlFqjReQMMhQnhvQOLYDiJQYaPH-gYHG4gMIHeG_AuoJS__1B9f6oGph_ThFQHHNL-3DVKvAu2KBPNZVkFPIMPkH5jzCTvlWGrRrr1c5zXNzuN8HP3lQVn1XM/s400/IMG_3577.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Super simple <span style="background-color: yellow;">to </span>make. I just used 3 10in squares and a small strip for the middle. I added a bit of elastic in the center so I could slide it right on to their collars. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">As you may know, I've been working on my sewing room and have made some pretty awesome improvements. We changed out the desks, added a small Ikea kitchen island, and painted. One thing that kept getting put off, but was a major want/need was a functional design wall. Not totally sure why I kept putting it off. Mostly, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, or how I wanted to do it. Well, after a year of hemming and hawing, we (my handsome hubby and I) figured it out and put it up.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I finally got it!! Yay!! The best part was it was only about $30 and took an afternoon. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Bonus: we used the shelf and lighting from my set up at the old house. :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here is how we did it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">We got foam sheets from Home Depot. These were 2ft by 4ft pieces. We decided on 2 of them.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I taped them together on both sides. These have a printed side and a reflective side. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_2Db2hAQZ2CuGGranABPhLCSM82QbPyPnr7mX_qcWjJvvwiK9uBuq15mVNtUgmLUDktrHciZTI6n-4dC8S3mhnizalbybXM1MGXv-1Zsmpy6wkAwdNpWfaUM8pIv0yHWgiuchKzJqrXQ/s1600/IMG_3472.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_2Db2hAQZ2CuGGranABPhLCSM82QbPyPnr7mX_qcWjJvvwiK9uBuq15mVNtUgmLUDktrHciZTI6n-4dC8S3mhnizalbybXM1MGXv-1Zsmpy6wkAwdNpWfaUM8pIv0yHWgiuchKzJqrXQ/s400/IMG_3472.jpg" width="300" /></a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I didn't want the words showing thru, so I covered the reflective side with felt. I picked up this white felt at Wal-Mart for just under $4 a yard. I got 2 yards, but had a decent amount left over.</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEHhXoMygCnQLI1nEQqR4pti-btYfaN2mf1HrzUpCIIetbMWIj9Zrb7EWu1IkJEbG0I1EkoexA6tSFenPkpGKPpRMw5aJCz4nmf_LherOX1JC8_6YGdtj2Tk6gu_jGAYW3TQGHX7Rj6zA/s1600/IMG_3474.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEHhXoMygCnQLI1nEQqR4pti-btYfaN2mf1HrzUpCIIetbMWIj9Zrb7EWu1IkJEbG0I1EkoexA6tSFenPkpGKPpRMw5aJCz4nmf_LherOX1JC8_6YGdtj2Tk6gu_jGAYW3TQGHX7Rj6zA/s400/IMG_3474.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I folded it over to the back and used hot glue to adhere the felt to the foam board. </span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOXThn78K3k_fNEwGSmADK4xCSpDb-KmwzSszBG20JT9dc-ThbgVWDw7C2xy7VeaoBBR76chM5l1yDe5ZVGHsmLO5sVp9E4GjgxuXNuiGYX06LVXOgvxy49eSyOKDQrFrsFKvGQ-Sikzk/s1600/IMG_3477.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOXThn78K3k_fNEwGSmADK4xCSpDb-KmwzSszBG20JT9dc-ThbgVWDw7C2xy7VeaoBBR76chM5l1yDe5ZVGHsmLO5sVp9E4GjgxuXNuiGYX06LVXOgvxy49eSyOKDQrFrsFKvGQ-Sikzk/s400/IMG_3477.jpg" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here it is, all felted up and ready for the wall. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Now, this would have been totally awesome as is, but my awesome hubby had other plans. He had the idea to add a shelf above it with lighting under the shelf! </span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwvsnku_pJtZirStXxJPRV5vQbaeuYBXxQBpqNC8Oju9m44Izq8P4nlT1W2K_onPkj-13H6_xq2Hp9zbbSPY_dNqSyZ2S6oPBvVWm0oGjI7QSEy5D304Os49Ud9PMEeWVzm_qi3DjCCOc/s1600/IMG_3481.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwvsnku_pJtZirStXxJPRV5vQbaeuYBXxQBpqNC8Oju9m44Izq8P4nlT1W2K_onPkj-13H6_xq2Hp9zbbSPY_dNqSyZ2S6oPBvVWm0oGjI7QSEy5D304Os49Ud9PMEeWVzm_qi3DjCCOc/s400/IMG_3481.jpg" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">While I was making the design board, he was hanging this shelf with lights. He put this together for me when we were living in the old house. It was just sitting in the garage, collecting dust, when he had the idea to add it to my sewing room and use it with the design board.</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu-X9Jln4bhKBL7fSUQ7ybh7rn8D8FbPUI2TbeGkZHT7IalM002mYswFlVzGbiDMTq9EzcpXjub9DbBhQklUrZ2vg2bsyKJueUOQHnJp7msnDenK6VvZkhGoIo7IZD2z1wNHFxgcsq4k0/s1600/IMG_3483.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu-X9Jln4bhKBL7fSUQ7ybh7rn8D8FbPUI2TbeGkZHT7IalM002mYswFlVzGbiDMTq9EzcpXjub9DbBhQklUrZ2vg2bsyKJueUOQHnJp7msnDenK6VvZkhGoIo7IZD2z1wNHFxgcsq4k0/s400/IMG_3483.jpg" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Because of the wires, he had to bump out the design board just a little bit. He added some super thin molding to the wall and stuck the wires to the wall with tape. Not his first choice...not sure what his first choice was, but either way, this worked.</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZEmdgyyy8FW_AItp_DtolszKSE8nPaimm-0t1qmlek2UHt8WFqrFaX6NMR_RW7y0YjMS8AdJ2yrG3NVO0oH1Q12DHqpXu_pe_oebQ3tRzRMIoz2ahvFrUGT6SfBK5WustsajC-WAIwUM/s1600/IMG_3489.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZEmdgyyy8FW_AItp_DtolszKSE8nPaimm-0t1qmlek2UHt8WFqrFaX6NMR_RW7y0YjMS8AdJ2yrG3NVO0oH1Q12DHqpXu_pe_oebQ3tRzRMIoz2ahvFrUGT6SfBK5WustsajC-WAIwUM/s400/IMG_3489.jpg" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">We stuck the design board to the molding with 3m tape. Again it wasn't our first choice. We started with E6000 but that was taking way to long to dry. (seriously should have seen our ninja moves trying to hold it up while it dried) Then we tried hot glue... that was stupid. lol By the time we got the glue on all three wood pieces, it was hardened. So we ran to the store and picked up a roll of 3m. We could have used velcro, but we thought of that after we had it all hung.</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPaXV3mQ6dz8lU-9Bcs_vfJ8LNzmyumwoBBLom99mGVmukKpLlB6HNRClRx1yTwMx3q5JhreNG2vWyV1px0oQLXzyftcpblq8phztC3-YJiTEY2BY5CC4SlNNooAUI1roz8q75GSu24OU/s1600/IMG_3492.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPaXV3mQ6dz8lU-9Bcs_vfJ8LNzmyumwoBBLom99mGVmukKpLlB6HNRClRx1yTwMx3q5JhreNG2vWyV1px0oQLXzyftcpblq8phztC3-YJiTEY2BY5CC4SlNNooAUI1roz8q75GSu24OU/s400/IMG_3492.jpg" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The shelf is much longer then the design board, and extends over the table, to the other wall. I plan on adding some small shelving or possibly some Ikea racks to fill in and add more storage to this wall.</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYcsanzKGPUlmFidXLlZgEohYfW8tPpCcN3C-7Wg6Cyw1QlK1xGdO3G_vVXBTYIe_ctXtbHRw32ianDJ55qaskjzkJe9hSATMjB8v0bIDXIEsDl1_-kvhpyB_1BXZJc14sgRU0jXRaIcA/s1600/IMG_3484+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYcsanzKGPUlmFidXLlZgEohYfW8tPpCcN3C-7Wg6Cyw1QlK1xGdO3G_vVXBTYIe_ctXtbHRw32ianDJ55qaskjzkJe9hSATMjB8v0bIDXIEsDl1_-kvhpyB_1BXZJc14sgRU0jXRaIcA/s400/IMG_3484+%25281%2529.jpg" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here it is!! All finished and awesome! You can see the light switch for the puck lights, just to the left of the design wall. I couldn't ask for a better design wall. Blocks stick to the felt effortlessly, but if I ever need to use pins on the wall, I can. </span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">A big thank you goes out to my awesome hubby for helping me put this together. Love that man for all he does. :)</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Of all the things I have made, a garment for myself has never been one of them. I don't know why, maybe I get bored with patterns, maybe I just don't know what fabric to use, or maybe garments intimidate me. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">But anyway, Halloween was approaching and we needed costumes, so I decided to try my hand at a simple circle skirt. I found the instructions on wikihow and decided to jump in. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The instructions were pretty simple to follow.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Cut a big circle, and then a smaller circle in the center. Then add wide elastic. I added an iron on poodle patch and ribbon leash. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDdjRmTfp-bmxYeUwqgY2JwXSK_LVawX-S4X_rwMLyt92zpzjxqgnPdhKiaEyHtFtw37c1JChGn_J99D7dckGX0GWVC0tkqtfaBabu3PQkohWqoEuJOl-CSErbffLWOQg8KPl7_xL5Px8/s1600/IMG_3089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDdjRmTfp-bmxYeUwqgY2JwXSK_LVawX-S4X_rwMLyt92zpzjxqgnPdhKiaEyHtFtw37c1JChGn_J99D7dckGX0GWVC0tkqtfaBabu3PQkohWqoEuJOl-CSErbffLWOQg8KPl7_xL5Px8/s400/IMG_3089.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">(so, I totally burned the poodle when I ironed it without a pressing cloth. note to self, use a pressing cloth)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Seriously easy to make. Since it was made out of felt, I didn't have to hem the bottom either.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">You know I love them and love planning gifts for them. Usually I make a rag quilt or a diaper cake. I wasn't really feeling the rag quilt idea and my sister was making the diaper cake. (She started her own diaper cake business and really wanted to make a diaper buggy for the mother to be. OMG!! It was adorable!! She totally rocked it!)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">But anyway, I digress. :) I had to come up with something fun. These are what I picked up at the baby store...yep, that's it. I didn't get all sucked in to the baby pink sweetness...this time. LOL</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">(Baby monitor from her registry, a pack</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> of 4 receiving blankets, and toy key ring)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I had an idea, but I wasn't sure how it was going to work out. I wanted to wrap the baby monitor with the receiving blankets. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">As you can see, it totally worked out!! The only additional item is the green ribbon. I didn't use any tape or pins for this gift. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg70eaWhsYbT09szgNS69nKkwsnHI4uZzby1_OTvbyCCqVWOYOoZqienCm7UjfGlO2DLVP7zhJoljPgenJS60OOTMg3CW1ETqGffiuu37W47ih_6uSvIBrf4piCq4Vo9Sqaq02fq8rG54k/s1600/IMG_3086.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg70eaWhsYbT09szgNS69nKkwsnHI4uZzby1_OTvbyCCqVWOYOoZqienCm7UjfGlO2DLVP7zhJoljPgenJS60OOTMg3CW1ETqGffiuu37W47ih_6uSvIBrf4piCq4Vo9Sqaq02fq8rG54k/s400/IMG_3086.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I simply wrapped the box with one (white with flowers) blanket, the same as you would a gift with wrapping paper. I folded the 2nd (light pink blanket) over so it was a long tube, and wrapped it around the box once. I folded the 3rd (dark pink blanket) in a fan shape, the same way you make paper fans. I placed the fan blanket on top, then used the 4th blanket (white with butterflies) to hold it all together. I put the ends of the 4th blanket thru the teething ring and fluffed it out to look like a rose. This not only looked pretty, but also helped to secure it. Lastly, I added the green ribbon to secure the whole thing. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this came out!! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">It was fun and much easier then I thought. Plus, not having to waste money on gift wrapping was good too. Best part was, the mom loved it!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Happy New Year crafty peeps! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I hope your holiday season was a joyous one! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I enjoyed spending both holidays with the people I love most. Christmas at my sisters, and New years camping with friends.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> I apologize for not posting over the last few months. The wonderful Christmas season is known as Peak Season at work. And boy, was it a busy season! I am one of Santas little elves after all. ;) </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Anyways, I'm back and I have a bunch of stuff to share! I've also got a bunch more in the works.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> My darling husband, got me an awesome new felting machine and luminere textile paints for Christmas! He also got me 2 new books, Create your own Free form Quilts and Fabric Manipulation. (last year, I got The Ultimate Guide to Art Quilting). Oh that man knows the the way to my heart! I think I'll keep him. :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihM09F8QR0GOF204EKEWpy4-3aLuAtQUAtvf_D4P0oEHXZ02Yss7qwYl2OxkhVFVTJ7DrJ05YXjbrtKD-4gzBhWWZsOPulPmeAXaHIHDOAZ3Ym5uhyphenhyphenmSSUqFeBAzYN0_v86NNw2zGOqrg/s1600/IMG_3410.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihM09F8QR0GOF204EKEWpy4-3aLuAtQUAtvf_D4P0oEHXZ02Yss7qwYl2OxkhVFVTJ7DrJ05YXjbrtKD-4gzBhWWZsOPulPmeAXaHIHDOAZ3Ym5uhyphenhyphenmSSUqFeBAzYN0_v86NNw2zGOqrg/s320/IMG_3410.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">(look at all this fun paint!)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm over the moon for all my new toys and books! I am working on scheduling many projects and planning all the new techniques I want to try. From free motion quilting to fabric dying, felting to appliqué, painting to embroidery, and everything in between.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> These are all things I have been putting off learning or even trying. I have come to the realization that I am the only one holding myself back. The fear of failure will not hold me back any longer. I will practice my craft and keep learning. I will force myself to try new things and not stress about the outcome. I will enjoy the process and hopefully make some pretty cool projects. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have so many ideas and now I have all the tools I need to learn how to do them. I can do this. I will do this. And I'll continue to share my progress. Hopefully more good then bad. :) </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> I came across this pattern in May/June issue of Quilty, and I knew I had to make it. I love Quilty. It is one of my favorite quilting magazines. It always has some fun modern patterns, and patterns using precuts. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Fun Kona solid jelly rolls! How cute are these?! Seriously, it was hard to open them to use them. But I had been holding onto them since Christmas and it was time they became a beautiful quilt. All I needed was the background fabric, and since I have been in a gray period lately, I went with gray.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This quilt was very easy and came together very well. I enjoyed every minute of it. I haven't quilted it yet. Only the top is finished. I haven't decided how I want to quilt it yet, or what I want to do for the backing.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Every year, around the spring, I get this major urge to plant things. Living things. Living green things. Living green things that I always manage to kill within a month. It's a sad vicious cycle. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The good news is, I'm getting better. This past spring we landscaped out entire backyard. We added a retaining wall, tons of plants and rock. It is now fall and most of the plants have not only survived, but have thrived. Most....there were a few casualties, but I'm pretty sure the dogs killed them. Yea.. the dogs. Anyway. On to my new obsession.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Plumerias!!! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I first fell in love with plumerias in Hawaii almost 2 years ago. They are big, beautiful, tropical plants that produce the most lovely and wonderfully scented flowers. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I didn't think they could grow here in our desert climate, but I was wrong. In my searching, I have come across many plumeria lovers in my area. They have wonderful success with these awesome plants. It seems they are also addicted to them and can't get enough. I'll tell ya, this obsession runs deep with many. I am just it's most recent victim.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here are my first 3 plumerias.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I have to be honest and tell you, my sewing room isn't complete yet. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">It isn't, but it has come a long way. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I think everyone who has a crafting/sewing room is constantly working on it. I haven't met anyone who has it exactly how they want it. I guess, just like our art, it is a constant work in progress.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">We started with painting the boring white walls and taking down the closet doors. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Seriously!! Look at those windows!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-l2Gy6cWLD4O7B1LE1WAfQiXgNY_E00YFiu8mE1SQ9KzJ0x4vhInSu_v7qkunpKPe9SDwbUKTvZPyGTDARLFB4_MjiXbfMOlGHltuJHbyzKy3cUX05BG3ulXmmFLBQCiRLHk43Q8AltU/s1600/IMG_2873.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-l2Gy6cWLD4O7B1LE1WAfQiXgNY_E00YFiu8mE1SQ9KzJ0x4vhInSu_v7qkunpKPe9SDwbUKTvZPyGTDARLFB4_MjiXbfMOlGHltuJHbyzKy3cUX05BG3ulXmmFLBQCiRLHk43Q8AltU/s400/IMG_2873.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I know you can hardly see them, but the framed items above the closet, are cross stitch pieces I made for each of my children. They are a little to old to have them in their rooms, so I added them to my room.</span></div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">These smaller Ikea desks are a perfect fit. We ended up purchasing 3 desktops, 2 smaller ones, and 1 longer desk. We also needed 9 legs and we used the Ikea drawer system too.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I was a little worried about the narrower desks, but they are working perfectly. Plus, they give much more floor space.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The most expensive part of this redo was the kitchen island we got to use for cutting and pressing. I needed something sturdy and a little taller then the desks. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I really had my heart set on the large island, but there just wasn't enough room for it, so we got the small version of it. </span></div>
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I do really like this set up much better then the old one. I actually feel like I can spread out and work on things without getting frustrated by my surroundings. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I'm still working on hanging drapes and figuring out exactly how to use the closet space. Not sure if I want to add shelving or hang fabric from the racks.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I know I'll be getting some hanging baskets for the wall close to my machine, but those will come in due time.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Today, I'm going to show you my sewing room. I was so happy when we bought this house that I would have my very own sewing room. At the rental house, I had a small part of the living room. It was nice, but there was always worry about leaving projects out.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here is the room. My constant work in progress room.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> It's a 10'x10' room. It has 3 huge windows and a closet. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">See all those awesome windows!! Love all the light they allow in.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhghOppGHXVw1a77YoR1gN2WZiMPcXUaKKZcOlY_FI1e54fVXwYHWLq3A6tnlr9HTb3H8Z17vK4Y6kh3SgnuSYW6jqHRFfd0SF1esCYngphOEvkydLlzHR2krQZyT_LvpzLriYaR6VCNdY/s1600/IMG_2302.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhghOppGHXVw1a77YoR1gN2WZiMPcXUaKKZcOlY_FI1e54fVXwYHWLq3A6tnlr9HTb3H8Z17vK4Y6kh3SgnuSYW6jqHRFfd0SF1esCYngphOEvkydLlzHR2krQZyT_LvpzLriYaR6VCNdY/s400/IMG_2302.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">However, lots of windows means less wall space. There won't be any cabinets on these walls.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This is the only blank wall, which will eventually be a design wall.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here, we have the closet and the giant hutch. This hutch would be great in a larger room. In this small room, it takes up way to much space.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This room just isn't working this way. The ikea expidit desk is awesome, but way to wide for this room. I fought to try to make it work, but it's gonna go, along with the hutch. The hutch will take up residence in my garage, and will hold all my other crafty goodness.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Soon, I will show you what it looks like now.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hey all! I just realized I never posted the finished art quilt I was working on. I did finish it and it turned out pretty awesome! Exactly the way I envisioned.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIf4IsfcDdCqDP-mR34WY1JHO2fBnW-zfxOtobfiQKU1tdO14lEXYMePZbR0smImRz4hDPAIixbSm_cYKrUK019ahfzEfs9EylBOGLijM2U4wUkXAPtCqfW1jJmHkzz3RVHNcurHHCM7Q/s1600/IMG_2836.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIf4IsfcDdCqDP-mR34WY1JHO2fBnW-zfxOtobfiQKU1tdO14lEXYMePZbR0smImRz4hDPAIixbSm_cYKrUK019ahfzEfs9EylBOGLijM2U4wUkXAPtCqfW1jJmHkzz3RVHNcurHHCM7Q/s400/IMG_2836.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">As you can see, I did end up adding beads and sequins. I didn't put them all over, as I was only looking to add a little shine and sparkle. I didn't want it to be to heavy in beading.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I did some clusters of 3 seed beads on some of the circles.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">They are so small, but the slight shine they give is pretty cool.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here, I had a trio of circles and wasn't sure how I wanted to bead them. This is what I finally decided on.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So, this is it my friends! My first art quilt. I really enjoyed the freedom of making a quilt that wasn't for a bed. It really opens up the creative opportunities. Seriously, the options are limitless!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I loved making this and look forward to making many more art quilts. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I know, it's only August, but I couldn't help myself. I needed a simple project to get keep the sewing mojo going and I just fell in love with these Halloween fabrics. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I decided to make some placemats and a table runner. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHhvi_W83XmWmWzJ69ETS7_4YK2mHVUYYBuLweHZlBRrgHrmgyJk1wL2kf83IEHDIx0iRt3BzHbykIFcW1sAQykrdCJnikq8-JTMwbNlvjk3v9RbL7f0aue1rowbZ0ZyLlzhgpAyHox78/s1600/IMG_2852.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHhvi_W83XmWmWzJ69ETS7_4YK2mHVUYYBuLweHZlBRrgHrmgyJk1wL2kf83IEHDIx0iRt3BzHbykIFcW1sAQykrdCJnikq8-JTMwbNlvjk3v9RbL7f0aue1rowbZ0ZyLlzhgpAyHox78/s400/IMG_2852.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(yes, that is the awesome farmhouse table my hubby made:))</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I bought 9 different fat quarters and a yard of gray fabric for the backs. I didn't have enough backing fabric for the table runner, so I had to dig into my stash for that. Good thing I'm in a gray period, cuz I just happen to have more gray. :) </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWgm-nId_EBPHyRBH_Std9Ue5X64nxPMHbm06gYjmDQ6V9uUxApgO0nKCklCB9hE1w_x6rMwDjGIg6P7j2dluGEqjpHcQG2H7VDGfjCo7Vpl4je1uLuF_MbJWzxycxygS6PKE6hpWJjUI/s1600/IMG_2851.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWgm-nId_EBPHyRBH_Std9Ue5X64nxPMHbm06gYjmDQ6V9uUxApgO0nKCklCB9hE1w_x6rMwDjGIg6P7j2dluGEqjpHcQG2H7VDGfjCo7Vpl4je1uLuF_MbJWzxycxygS6PKE6hpWJjUI/s400/IMG_2851.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I did some simple stack and slashing on the fabrics and made these in a quilt as you go technique. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This is the first time I have done quilt as you go. I found it to be very easy for this type of project. It brought the whole thing together at one time. Instead of having to piece the tops and then quilt it all together. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">On a side note, these were so much fun and so very festive, I think I will make themed placemats for every month of the year. That is, if I don't get distracted.. LOL that happens a lot. I'll keep you all posted on the progress of that endeavor. :)</span></div>
<br />Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12618133390154426352noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-294163194117959464.post-88781759199343197892015-08-16T16:30:00.000-07:002015-08-25T17:32:50.595-07:00Rainbow Square Quilt<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Leave it to me to wait until 6 days before someones birthday to start a quilt. Yep, that's exactly what I did. My friend Trish turned 50 this month and I really wanted to make something nice for her. Originally I was going to make her a bed quilt to celebrate not only her 50th birthday, but also her new home.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The problem was, I couldn't find fabrics I liked in the colors and them</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">e she wanted for her bedroom. Because of that, I hadn't started anything until the Sunday before her birthday. I decided to make her a lap quilt, as I felt fairly </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">confident I could whip one up in time. But the question was, what kind of pattern? What fabric?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Enter awesome ombre dyed jelly roll! I had this pack for a while and just hadn't had a fun project for it yet, so I decided now was the time. With only 6 days to make it, I needed a fairly simple pattern. I went with the Make it Marcus pattern made for this fabric line. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjraxU8IfIdH8uz5uYInLjfdaZDNasiTYHXDw7K5-AMXUoCnRjGyzMUps2puVdZYx468FGeVvAfByXfBDuwGO3sTE1-NAIhLu7IGVyOGUPOuIbx7BBU98qC6a827IJ_CuyfRmKuRFZMcVk/s1600/IMG_2926.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjraxU8IfIdH8uz5uYInLjfdaZDNasiTYHXDw7K5-AMXUoCnRjGyzMUps2puVdZYx468FGeVvAfByXfBDuwGO3sTE1-NAIhLu7IGVyOGUPOuIbx7BBU98qC6a827IJ_CuyfRmKuRFZMcVk/s400/IMG_2926.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I added a 1in black border and a 3in lavender border to help frame it and make it just a bit bigger. </span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVS0LGZVs6AerZmR2VQSjVwaYee19lxqgcBDKBH9305SDKMtX-4fQU5tUeyl10VdYB11JzpC-tqzVZd9OGoxTbXZPmg040g-ZYVD6oGesinKdkR1eWdHuMV1fLLmlNM9a81VrbxFhi3lc/s1600/IMG_2924.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVS0LGZVs6AerZmR2VQSjVwaYee19lxqgcBDKBH9305SDKMtX-4fQU5tUeyl10VdYB11JzpC-tqzVZd9OGoxTbXZPmg040g-ZYVD6oGesinKdkR1eWdHuMV1fLLmlNM9a81VrbxFhi3lc/s400/IMG_2924.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I love the way it turned out! Especially the quilting! I stippled around the center and did a straight stitch in the borders.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This is the first time I have ever used high density batting. (I accidentally bought the wrong kind) I freaking LOVE it!! I love how much it shows of the quilting and it wasn't as hard to quilt as I had expected it to be. Which is the only reason I hadn't used it up until this point. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">As you can see in the top picture, there is a nice corner tag. I have never done a label like that before, and I really like the simplicity of it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">All in all, this quilt had a lot of firsts. I'm very pleased with the results and it inspires me to keep pushing my own limits.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Also, a major shout out to Arizona Quilts! I love this store, and the sweet lady that helped me figure out what I needed for my borders and backing was amazing!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It has been a while since I have made a bridal garter. Between not having any creative mojo, and then getting my mojo back and quilting with a vengeance, I haven't really thought much about making garters. However, when the opportunity presented itself, I couldn't say no. I love making them! I love the satins and lace. The possibility for embellishments are endless and it just gets me thinking of all the creative opportunities. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My friend, Mary has been so sweet in encouraging me and my garter making. Matter of fact, three of the sets I have made, have been for people she loves dearly. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Anyway, she is celebrating her 23rd wedding anniversary this July 4th (in Vegas!!) and she asked if I could make her a fun garter to commemorate the event. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I jumped at the chance and had so many ideas! The problem with many of my ideas, is that I don't always have the technical knowledge to pull them off. (I really wanted to do some cutwork embroidery on the bottom edge) I'll get there eventually, but right now, I just wanted something fun and festive.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This is what I came up with! A red, white and blue beauty! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Although it is similar to the garters I have made in the past, I just had to change it up a bit. I like to try new techniques to keep the creative mojo flowing. I decided to do a nice scalloped satin stitch edge along the bottom. This is close to the cutwork look I was originally thinking of, that I knew I couldn't pull of just yet. To clean up the edge after the satin stitching, I originally started trimming with small scissors.... this was taking for...e..v...er! It was tedious and not fun. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then...LIGHTBULB!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> I went out to the garage and used my husbands wood burning tool. It was awesome! Totally melted the organza and made cleaning up the edges a breeze. A super hot breeze, as it has been over 100 degrees here. But still, it made super easy work out of cleaning up the extra fabric. This of course only works if you are using a fabric that melts. Organza melts. I did have to be careful not to linger to long or to close to the red stitching, as it would have melted too.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">All in all, I love how this turned out. It's fun, festive and I hope she likes it. :)</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Whipped up this totally adorable diaper cake this week. A good friend of mine, Freddy, wanted a diaper cake for a baby shower he was going to. He wanted to do an owl themed cake, so we set out looking for owl blankets and bibs, and whatever else we could find. He found a perfect blanket set, and we found the perfect bibs to go along with them!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhol8AF0gTZUxbJw2tmO161DEMHQ3VuuSD4xdK9qrWTk4xsEm5YorbmocbMe1F1SUtfEzqJMb7NRHUhyphenhyphenhyePhbqng_oj5YnRpDm_IZrGB8b7RAJ0eodReWwbMH4-x4VeJJMwnwi6EQ7sUw/s1600/IMG_2802.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhol8AF0gTZUxbJw2tmO161DEMHQ3VuuSD4xdK9qrWTk4xsEm5YorbmocbMe1F1SUtfEzqJMb7NRHUhyphenhyphenhyePhbqng_oj5YnRpDm_IZrGB8b7RAJ0eodReWwbMH4-x4VeJJMwnwi6EQ7sUw/s400/IMG_2802.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I am totally digging the flower topper!! I decided to do this because we couldn't find anything suitable for the top. I made the flower using diaper as the petals and tied a pacifier in the center. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwgH0DOznGqJnoOr1H8LMChSG1tHzLOmR7pL3AGgMeS7n4kQ7B2ACcI2NZaKvg9opF7e3uNt8dZgWe5GZuc3kzN5WVpWRNyi3x20HoeqsepLChcBWnOQK0XgxgJnqiVr-7OmOWOFcvqmE/s1600/IMG_2803.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwgH0DOznGqJnoOr1H8LMChSG1tHzLOmR7pL3AGgMeS7n4kQ7B2ACcI2NZaKvg9opF7e3uNt8dZgWe5GZuc3kzN5WVpWRNyi3x20HoeqsepLChcBWnOQK0XgxgJnqiVr-7OmOWOFcvqmE/s400/IMG_2803.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once the cake was stacked to our liking, we added the tulle. Wrapping it top to bottom, then bottom to top. I made sure to have long tails that I could use between the diaper petals. This added a much needed contrast and fluff to the overall look of the cake. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig2TsGHotdCvU0EWujIq-fOtZr4PyVaCNamSunXa9tB7wP6DHa45aCMQ0n1_gy8-CVf6SALc0P2riipJwJJCqF2Bvpxozzs506IFPe39ToqeqY8lnEGgGUXfZrN6wX-t-dS_zq2lCMilw/s1600/IMG_2804.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig2TsGHotdCvU0EWujIq-fOtZr4PyVaCNamSunXa9tB7wP6DHa45aCMQ0n1_gy8-CVf6SALc0P2riipJwJJCqF2Bvpxozzs506IFPe39ToqeqY8lnEGgGUXfZrN6wX-t-dS_zq2lCMilw/s400/IMG_2804.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This diaper cake came together fairly easily and it was even more fun working with Freddy on it. It's his gift to give and he was awesome at helping build it. Plus, it was great hanging out. :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ingredients:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">92 size 2 diapers</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4 flannel receiving blankets</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4 pacifiers</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">3 bottles</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 bibs</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">One of the most fun diaper cakes I have ever made was this jungle themed cake. A friend of mine wanted something for her daughter in laws baby shower. It was also for her first grandson! YAY!! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">She wanted to do something monkey/jungle themed and wanted it to be a large centerpiece. She bought all the stuff and brought it over. We worked together to come up with this awesome diaper cake. It was a huge hit at the baby shower!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Due to the size of the board and the amount of diapers she had brought, we ended up making 4 smaller rounds to put the base on. Covered those rounds in adorable monkey themed pajamas. I love how you can see the little feet of the pajamas!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">She also made the palm tree topper to give the cute little monkey something to hold on to.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ingredients:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2 boxes of size 1 diapers</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4 receiving blankets</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4 pajamas</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> 1 set of 4 mobile toys</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 set of toy keys</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 beanie</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1 set of booties</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I made this towel cake for a dear friend to give to her niece. She hand picked the ingredients and brought them over for me to work on. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The theme for the wedding was yellow and gray, so she wanted the towel cake to match.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Since today is my handsome grooms birthday, (Happy Birthday my Love!!) I thought I'd share something he made for me recently. It was something he had been thinking about making for a while, and finally did. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">He did such a fantastic job!! I love it so much! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">He made this awesome dining table from the ground up. It took many hours and tons of sanding.There was also a month worth of stressing over the right stain color. (I think he picked just the right color) I'm sure there were more then a few choice swear words involved too! Haha!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmdFa7r6msaw19x18QNP954Oo0HOsfp1UChk_28hSaaM3bx7gfooaaYH9ZfzNaku5UMBm5N4O95OD87vHfmE57g-7FbHr3SQPZf1rnKLIgXVAOx7nKFPm1JC1CdN5PymwXGzCaKJK7alE/s1600/IMG_1869.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmdFa7r6msaw19x18QNP954Oo0HOsfp1UChk_28hSaaM3bx7gfooaaYH9ZfzNaku5UMBm5N4O95OD87vHfmE57g-7FbHr3SQPZf1rnKLIgXVAOx7nKFPm1JC1CdN5PymwXGzCaKJK7alE/s400/IMG_1869.JPG" width="300" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I absolutely love it! I'm so grateful to have such a handy hubby! He is new to this woodworking thing, but I think he's a natural at building things. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now, he just needs to make the benches for it. And, I should probably make some placemats to protect it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I can't wait to have big family get togethers at it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">(sorry the pics were taken while it was still in the garage, it now sits proudly in our dining room)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This towel cake was made for my cousins wedding. She had as lovely backyard wedding and I wanted to make something fun and bright for the newlyweds. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I found almost all the ingredients in wall-marts dollar bins, so I was able to get a lot of cool things. I bought the strainer, no really knowing how I was going to add it in. Luckily, the towels I picked were on the smaller side, so when I rolled them, they fit right into the strainer. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It was a fun project to make and the bride loved it!</span></div>
